Should Airdrie United revert back to being Airdrieonians. The figures on the poll say yes but whether it can be done or not it will have to wait until next season.

According to the poll completed on The Broomfield Stomp this week it would be the preferred option for 49% of the site users.

So in basic terms it means that out of a support of 1400 on average, 48 fans or there about wish to revert back. A further 24 would prefer at least the name and history to be secured by either the Trust or fans in general.

The other group of either don't cares or no voters, have stated that even broaching the subject can be seen as an insult to what Jim Ballantyne or the Spiers family have done for Airdrie fans.

How ever you read this it shows some feel there is still a fight to be fought and the resurrection of Airdrieonians is the new battle. So much for a quiet summer of team speculation and hope.

But we must also consider that with the fixtures coming out next week and the merchandising done for this season nothing will happen until next season. Assuming anything will be done at all
