Good luck to those players

Who will be leaving Airdrie United during the summer and thanks for making our first season as Airdrie United one to remember.

It was announced today in the Sun newspaper that our Maltese international Simon Vella will be leaving the club, and rumour for months has it that David McGuire and Liam McVeigh are heading out to America on some sort of scholarship

Sandy will also be reducing the squad from twenty four to nineteen, eight or nine of whom will be full time. the others will be part-time.

whether an advantage to us or not is the re-structuring of football which entitles all players below the age of twentyone to be kept on youth contracts

Therefore a squad of nineteen can have as many youth players as we need

full details of this will become clear in the near future
