Eddie Wolecki Black’s time as Airdrieonians manger almost got off to a dream start in a match that had everything except three points coming to the Diamonds. 

Airdrie got off to a dream start when with eight minutes David Cox shot from outside the penalty box. Peterhead drew level on 25 minutes when Neil Parry was judged to have committed a foul when he went for a ball and missed, for me it was a 50/50 ball but you’ve at least got to get to it Parry was shown a straight red for his effort. Rory McCallister stepped up and slotted past Rohan Ferguson whose first touch was to pick the ball out from the back of the net. Twenty five minutes gone 1-1 and Airdrie are down to 10 men
On twenty nine minutes Liam Watt put the diamonds ahead once again another fine shot from outside the box.

That’s the way the half ended Airdrie 2-1 up and down to 10 men.
After the restart things were back on level terms, no Peterhead didn’t score an equaliser, but they did have Noble sent off after he brought down Cadden (I think?). Cadden stepped up and made it three one to the Damonds and both teams were down to ten men.

With twelve minutes to go you would have thought game over……..but guys we follow Airdrie and nothing is ever certain until that final whistle sounds.

Airdrie were tired after playing for so long a man down, but that’s no excuse for not being able to hang on to the ball for any longer than one or two passes and Peterhead attacked and their attacks provided three goals the first through Ryan Strachan on eighty four minute, the equaliser came through Brown on eighty eight minutes and then Gilchrist sealed the points for Peterhead.

Some of our fans aren’t going to like this but I would rather sit through a game like that every day of the week and lose than some of the dull boring games we’ve had and won, if you were a neutral that would have been a fantastic match to watch.

As predicted the Man in black has held on to the top spot in the prediction league but the gap is closing.
