Airdrie have the potential to have our third highest finish as Airdrie United in the Scottish First Division, a win tomorrow against Dunfermline could see us climbing to 8th and safety. Sandy Stewart managed to take us to a final position of fifth in season 2004 - 2005.
In the same season Queen of the South stayed in the first division with the same points total we have today 33 and 8th place. They won 7 drew 12 and lost 17. Below them Stranraer finished on 29 and Brechin on 17.
In 9th place at the moment, we've won 8, drew 9 and lost 18, one more win could mean so much to those who are still concerned about the club and it's future. A building brick, if you like, to take a step forward for next season.
Airdrie Vs Dunfermline 3:00pm Saturday 1st of May, we need you there to be counted.
Who knows, with the SPL talking about a 14 team expansion for season 2011 - 2012 we could be there to be counted!
Hope the spirit of the last great day at Broomfield is there tomorrow, we beat a promotion chasing Dunfermline then, we can repeat it tomorrow.
COME ON YE DIAMONDS!!!
The BBC website [for what it is worth] says Ayr have only 11 fit senior players for tomorrow. Good news for getting to the play-offs but not so good for getting 8th place.
Good luck tomorrow guys, Bro in law is an Airdrie man and the cheeks of his @#$%& are clenched tight waiting for tomorrow.Enjoy you day if they pull it off.
YES let's give "them" "our" support tomorrow......AND NEXT SEASON and THE NEXT.etc etc."They are "our" team not just when "we're" winning.Hope to see a good support there tomorrow to help re-pay JB,KB and co. for their involvement. No Surrender.
COME ON THE DIAMONDS! You've made me proud to say I support Airdrie then lets go out this afternoon support as much as we can and hopefully we'll be sitting in eigth place at 4:45.
