AS Airdrie 5-2 Victoria Park B

Airdrie got the season under way with a comfortable win at central park.

Goals from Shaw,Clark and Kenny Pardoe had Airdrie cruising after just 20 minutes. MacFarlane was relatively untroubled in the Airdrie goal. In the second half Airdrie had a penalty after Shaw's mazy run was ended inside the box, however Lindsay's poor spot kick was well saved. Victoria pulled one back shortly after due to some comic cut defending. Jim Brady restored Airdrie's dominace with a second half double and was unlucky not too add a third, Gray Scott and Lindsay all had chances to add to the tally but spurned them. Victoria nabbed a second at the deathas Airdrie protested for a free kick they broke up the park, MacFarlane made a great initial save however an away player was on hand to tap in an easy finish.

Airdrie used the ball very well and but for a couple of errors would have kept a clean sheet, early days to rectify that though, Sometimes over elaborate with the play, with a bit more directness  they could have had a barrow load. A good early showing though with several, good performances.
