Following Jim Moffat's first game as manager, the fans hoped that the poor perforance in that game would be a one-off. On Saturday however, a 10-man Elgin saw off a slow, lacklustre East Fife 1-0 in a shocking home team performance. Jimmy Allan was dropped for the game, giving East Fife little or no attacking, creative option with the exception of lone-McManus up front.

The inspirational Grant Cunningham was taken out of his centre-midfield role and played out of postion, only to be subbed in the second half.
