Dumbarton boss (or should I say ex now) Tom Carson has sensationally resigned only six days after leading the Sons to promotion to Division 2. Dumbarton boss (or should I say ex now) Tom Carson has sensationally resigned only six days after leading the Sons to promotion to Division 2.  Tam succeeded where Ian Wallace and Jimmy Brown failed before him and looked to have secured his long term future at the club.  However following a board meeting last night Tom handed in his resignation.

It is believed that the former Dumbarton goalkeeping legend was angry at the funds being made available to him to strengthen his squad for the 2nd Division campaign. Tam felt that he would be working with his hands tied behind his back.

This is another disastrous gaffe for the club as they lose the man who finally got them out of the lowest league in Scotland after only six days.  Watch out for Stirling Albion or Albion Rovers making moves for Tam in the near future.
