Dumbarton play host to Peterhead in this do or die battle for promotion.  Anything but a win for Peterhead rules them out of going up.  If we win we go into the last game with our destiny in our own hands - a draw may still be OK but a defeat could see us helpless on the last day if Rovers win against Stirling.

Previous Matches

Sons travelled to Peterhead for the first time this season in August and proceeded to thump the Blue Toon 3-0.  John McKeown got his first ever goal for Sons after on two minutes when he nodded home a Martin O'Neill free-kick.  Second half goals from Flannery and Robertson rounded up an excellent performance from Dumbarton. Peterhead 0 Dumbarton 3.

In October Peterhead make the long trek down from the Highlands and exacted revenge by putting three past Dumbarton.  Goals from Johnstone, Mackay and Stewart saw the Blue Toon fans celebrate all the way home.  Dumbarton 0 Peterhead 3.

Last Time out at Balmoor Sons were hammered again 4-0 as they were made to pay for missing a host of early chances.  This defeat swung the goal difference between the sides well in Peterhead's favour although the two sides now cannot finish on the same points now.  Peterhead 4 Dumbarton 0

The Opposition - Peterhead

Peterhead will come to The Rock knowing exactly what they need to do - win.  Sons have to avoid being caught in two minds whether to attack or try and hold on.  With Iain Stewart and Martin Johnston in their frontline Sons defence will most certainly be tested.
