Manchester United fans travelling to Burnley for Saturday’s lunchtime’s Premier League clash could be set to witness three moments of footballing history.

The Red Devils will look to kick-start their season against their Lancashire rivals, following a bitterly disappointing start to the campaign.

Depending on team selection and the result, United’s travelling Red Army could be set to witness three moments of club history at Turf Moor.

1. British transfer record making his debut
Manchester United smashed the British transfer record to snap up Angel Di Maria for £59.7million. It was a fee which comfortably eclipsed the £50million Chelsea played for Fernando Torres, and the attack-minded Argentinean is widely anticipated to make his debut at Burnley.

2. Louis van Gaal’s first win
The former Netherlands boss is still searching for his first victory, following defeats to Swansea and MK Dons and a draw at Sunderland. United's fantastic travelling support will hope the club's new boss gets off the mark at Burnley.

3. Rooney breaking Henry’s goal record
Fresh from having been appointed England skipper, United's captain could claim another accolade on Saturday should he fire a brace of goals. The 28-year-old has 174 top-flight goals to his name, one behind Thierry Henry, who is currently the Premier League's third top Premier League goalscorer of all time.
