Midfielder Ian Ashbee believes Hull can do themselves a massive favour by beating Spurs on Monday night."It's a home game and obviously it's one we want to win," said Ashbee. "It will be a tough fixture. I wouldn't say it's a must-win game for us, but we could do ourselves a big favour if we took the three points. That is what we'll be aiming to do.

"This is a big week for the club. We've got two league games against teams around us in the table and we want to try and put in a couple of good home performances.

"Hopefully we can put a bit of distance between ourselves and Spurs and Blackburn."

After drawing the last three Ashbee believes confidence is back.

"The confidence is coming back. Confidence does get knocked when you don't win football matches.

"But we've put some decent displays in during the last couple of games and maybe we could have gone on to win those.

"There's players pushing to be in the side all the time and that is making the manager's job harder, but it keeps everybody on their toes."


Ashbee knows it wont be an easy task beating Tottenham

"They're a quality side. They've been in the Premier League a long time and we have to respect them, but we won't fear them.

"We haven't feared anybody all season. If we're right on our own game, I believe we can win."
