Hodgson feels for Bullard

Fulham manager Roy Hodgson feels very sad that Jimmy Bullard will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. Hodgson said on Sky Sports News: "It is sad news, I must say."He wasn't really complaining so much about his knee during the month of January, it was his groin - because of the injury he picked up against Tottenham Hotspur, and that was affecting him.
"When he started training again, he then mentioned there was a slight tweak in the knee and he wasn't so comfortable with it. "Basically
he went to Hull and played, and I can only presume it was something
that happened in the West Ham game that has either exacerbated that
situation that he felt, or has provoked a totally new injury. "It is really, really sad for him. It is
sad for him in the sense that he worked so hard to get back to full
fitness after being out for more than a year. "He had a good year
with us really. 2008 was a good year for him on the football field. As
I said before, we weren't happy to see him go, but we had to respect
his decision. "It is very sad that now he is going to face another further long spell on the touchline. I can only wish him well."
