Everton boss David Moyes is hoping that his next signing will be Portsmouth's centre half Sylvain Distin after Joleon Lescott completed his move to Man City.
Lescott has joined City after finally completing the long protracted and bitter transfer on Tuesday night but Moyes is not about to sit around and is keen to land Distin.
There is other competition for the player coming from Aston Villa but Everton are thought to be the favourites to land the player.
Moyes has already spent £10m of the Lescott cash on Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, who signed a five-year deal at the club on Tuesday.
