Barnsley will look to advance to the third round of the EFL Cup for the third year in a row when they host Crewe at Oakwell on Tuesday night
The Reds beat Wigan on penalties in early August in round one and come into the match after a goalless draw at Doncaster last Saturday.
Head Coach Daniel Stendel said there were no injuries ahead of the midweek tie and hoped that some new additions would arrive before the end of the transfer window.
Opponents Crewe have had a great start to the new campaign, winning all three of their opening games, which included a round one win over Accrington at home.
They are managed by Lee Bell who took charge in November 2022.
This was the same month Barnsley and Crewe last played each other, with the Reds winning 3-0 in a FA Cup round two tie.
The two sides have played each other 57 times, with Barnsley winning 28 and losing 14.
