Barnsley will look for a win at South Yorkshire neighbours Doncaster when they travel to Club Doncaster Sports Village this weekend.
The Reds come into the game after losing their season opener against Bromley at Oakwell, a positive performance in which Barnsley could not convert their numerous chances in front of goal and where punished.
Amid the lack of incomings, head coach Daniel Stendel will be working on a plan to deliver a derby win, and he confirmed that Clayton Taylor could be involved in the squad this Saturday.
However, Stendel also confirmed that Cieran Slicker, Vimal Yoganathan and Isaac Smith are likely to be sidelined for ‘the next six weeks’ with their injuries they picked up in pre-season.
The Reds boss was also unsure of any incomings ahead of the midday trip.
As for Doncaster, their campaign begun with an EFL Cup win over Stockport on penalties, before losing at Mansfield in their league opener.
They have brought in several new additions this summer including Alfie May on loan from Huddersfield - who seems to like a goal against Barnsley, Isaac Hutchinson from Bristol Rovers and goalkeeper Tommy Simkin on loan from Stoke.
Doncaster have also lost Luke Molyneux to League Two side Salford this summer, and the winger caused Barnsley problems when they visited last November.
Rovers are still managed by Grant McCann, who has been in charge since May 2023 in his second spell at the club.
Last season, Barnsley won at Doncaster in November with goals from Vimal Yoganathan and Davis Keillor-Dunn and lost at home with the game being decided by an Elliot Lee penalty.
Both sides have faced off 79 times, with Barnsley winning 26 and losing 29.
