Last Tram tae Auchenshuggle

By Stomp Admin
January 9 2008

Twice World Ceilidh Band Champions the Last Tram Tae Auchenshuggle are coming to Airdrie Sir John Wilson Town Hall.If you have never been to a Ceilidh make this your first one and help support the club. (Beginners welcomed as all dances are introduced by the band with instructions), On the 1st of March 2008 Airdrie Supporters Trust are broadening our horizons and hosting our first Ceiligh.

Tickets are going to be £15 and this will be a ‘bring-your-own-booze-event’; we decided to go down this route because we have the ’95 re-union night and the player of the year event coming in quick succession.

Tickets go on sale this weekend.

We booked them to play an Airdrie benefit gig back in the days of Steve Archibald, and so impressed was I that I hired them for me wedding not long after.

They were execellent, even if you end up a sweaty mess fairly quickly.

Ceilidh is always a top night. I shall definitely attend with Mrs OlderB. Fact that it's bring your own booze adds to the glamour of the night!!

Someone was saying the Cellar Bar has Ceilidh style bands on a Monday or Tuesday night. It might be worth trying to get a poster or flyers in there.

Well my first ceilidh is over and it was a great night, Airdrie fans were very few and far between maybe 20 - 30 maximum out of the 150 who attending.

Last Tram were excellent and I think we will be seeing them again. So watch this space or another just like it.

Have to agree. My first ceilidh too and it was an excellent night. It was disappointing that so few fans supported the event but this was more than made up for by the turnout on the night and it's good that a "Trust", promoted event reached out to the wider community. Roll on the next one.

Cannot remember anyone going home, far less myself however I was reliably informed on Sunday afternoon, I had a great night!!

Not entirely sure BYOB is the best idea, at least when you have to go to the bar, you're aware your legs are still working!!
