The Football League latest Agents' Fees Report shows the Dons cut their spending on agents considerably compared to the same period last year, but still paid £17,500 between July 1st and December 31st in 2008.

In the same period in 2007, the Dons spent a considerable £76,555 on agents - the highest figure in League Two at the time, and more than many clubs in higher divisions. That period saw the Dons bring in Kevin Gallen, Drewe Broughton, Nathan Abbey, Willy Gueret, Colin Cameron, Luke Howell, Mark Wright, Alan Navarro, Danny Swailes and Jemal Johnson.

Between January 1st and June 30th in 2008 the Dons cut those costs and did not spend a penny on agents in the deals involving Carl Regan, Craig Dobson and Peter Leven.

Obviously the fees were likely to increase for the summer transfer window, especially with Florian Sturm, Flavien Belson, Miguel Llera and Ali Gerba coming in from abroad and presumably being touted around by agents.

After the large figure released in 2007, the Dons announced new club policy would be to not spend any cash on agents, but the reduction does at least mark progress for the club in this area.

The £17,500 spent makes the Dons the 11th biggest spenders on agents in League One.
