The match at Tranmere will be a vital one for the Dons, with the rest of the top six going into games against bottom half sides they will expect to win, despite only Millwall playing at home.

The Lions host Brighton, currently sitting two points adrift of safety in 21st. Albion manager Micky Adams has come under severe pressure in recent weeks, and that intensified after they crashed out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy when a penalty shootout away from Wembley against Luton in midweek. Millwall, however, have also slowed up, failing to capitalise on an opportunity to leapfrog ourselves into 2nd place with their games in hand following a loss to Leeds and draws against Stockport and Swindon.

League leaders Leicester City face a potentially tricky trip to Bristol Rovers, who find themselves on a good run of form and with 21-goal Rickie Lambert set to return to the side after injury. A superb 2-0 win away at Scunthorpe was followed up by a 3-0 victory over Yeovil, Lambert coming off the bench to score the third. Leicester go into the game on the back of three consecutive draws, and although they have been below their best in recent weeks, some would say the way they are still picking up points is the hallmark of champions.

Another side challenging at the top with mixed recent form are Peterborough, who face an away trip to 22nd place but recently revitalised Hereford. It's been a mixture of panic and new-found confidence for Posh, after a minor fuss was made over a howler from goalkeeper Joe Lewis in a 1-3 defeat to Yeovil. But the messages from manager Darren Ferguson have been very positive, and he was pleased with a new formation accomodating new signing Lee Frecklington that earnt them a 1-1 midweek draw with Tranmere.

Oldham face the possible honeymoon of new Yeovil player-manager Terry Skiverton, as they travel to Huish Park, while Scunthorpe face a Swindon side that under new manager Danny Wilson have picked up a point from each of their last two fixtures, against promotion contenders Millwall and Leicester.
