Following an assured 3-1 victory against Hull City and with Boro finally reaching the 30 point mark, the question on every Boro fans mind is do we have enough to escape the relegation zone with time slipping away ever faster? If that's possible is perhaps still a tad unlikely, Looking back a week ago to the Bolton match we all thought we were dead and buried, so this victory at least gives hope.

The fact of the matter is that our final six games provide a terribly difficult run-in. While Boro fans will be hoping that Saturdays home match against Fulham (which also sees the return of Schwarzer notably) will provide a crucial home win, if it doesn't then games against Manchester United and Arsenal following are perhaps a tough test for the ever unpredictable confidence prone Boro team, saying that we have in the past often been the David to the top 4 teams Goliath, and Boro fans wouldn't be particuarly surprised if we were to lose to Fulham and beat Man United!

It seems almost an inevitablity that at least one of the three north east teams will be playing Championship football next season, and an away game at St. James Park may be a crucial six pointer in this battle. The last two games are Villa at home, with the season finishing against West Ham away. Personally I feel that to stay up we are going to need at least eight more points, and that is certainly do-able with this run-in, unless in this more miserable of seasons in recent years we go on another winless streak. Southgate has been saying we're still in an uphill battle and that's certainly the case, but every season there seems to be one team that rises from the depths and claws their way out of the relegation zone, and here's hoping this season that's us - though I'm not holding my breath!

We've got to beat Fulham - we need to win 3 games from 6 which is a tall order since they include Arsenal, Man U and Aston Villa.

It was a fighting draw at least - but we didn't create that many chances. Great save of Schwarzer's from Tuncay - Scwarzer and Luke Young are the two players we really missed this year. We should also have moved in for Leighton Baines or Matthew Taylor earlier as left backs.

Matty Bates really put is a shift - a few weeks back I thought Josh Walker would have been the man for that slot... wrong again!
