Polish striker Grzegorz Rasiak has pushed himself firmly in the thoughts of Bolton Wanderers manager Gary Megson after an encouraging display in the second half of the 4-1 defeat against Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.

Rasiak made only his second appearance for Bolton when coming on halfway through the game at Ewood Park and his efforts where something which didn't go unnoticed by Megson.

Speaking to the Bolton News, Trotters boss Megson said the decision to withdraw young midfielder Danny Guthrie for Rasiak was done as a tactical measure in an attempt to put more pressure on Blackburn and it was a decision which nearly worked as the ex-Spurs and Derby target man had a goal ruled out for offside just moments after entering the field.

"I thought he did excellently, I wanted to get Rasiak up front and cause Blackburn one or two more problems rather than just looking to play tip tap Charlie football on the edge of our own box."

Wanderers have the 29-year old's services on a temporary basis until the end of the season with a fee of around £500,000 agreed if he makes a favourable impression.
