United forward Daniel Nardiello completes his loan-spell with Barnsley on Saturday, where the 21-year-old has netted seven goals in only fifteen appearances. Does the bright prospect have what it takes to have a go at senior level for the Red Devils?

Manchester United forward Daniel Nardiello will make the final appearance of his loan-spell with Barnsley tomorrow, as the Tykes take on Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park.

The youngster has enjoyed a fantastic spell at Oakwell, having netted seven goals in fifteen appearances, two of which were as substitute, for the Yorkshire club, and his success with Barnsley could prompt Sir Alex Ferguson to try the forward in the first-team next season.

Nardiello spent a month on-loan at Swansea City earlier in the season where he failed to find the net in four appearances, but at Barnsley is goalscoring form has been commendable. The 21-year-old served up a number of impressive displays for the United reserves prior to his loan move too, so it would be hard for the club to begrudge him a go at senior level next season.

International football could not be that far away for Nardiello either, with former United star and Wales boss Mark Hughes making no secret of the fact that he wants the Coventry-born striker to make him self available to play for Wales, with the nationality of his parents meaning he can make himself eligible for a call-up from Sparky.

As ManUtdWeb has reported, Diego Forlan has been strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the summer which means United are likely to be on the look out for a new striker to bolster the ranks. Nardiello is yet to make a Premiership appearance for United, with one start and two substitute appearances in the League Cup his only claim to first-team activity, but his form for the reserves and for Barnsley would suggest that he deserves a go to establish himself in the senior squad.
