It is the first time in 2 years since the midfielder represented Ireland since walking out of Ireland's World Cup 2002 camp after an argument with former manager Mick McCarthey.

The 33-year old made a dramatic return to international football just last week and Republic Brain boss Brain Kerr was keen to add Keane to his squad. The United skipper has represented Ireland 58 times and bagged 9 goals for his country.

John O'Shea has also been included after being rested from the Czech Republic win last month.

Meanwhile, Darren Fletcher has also won an international call up and is likely to start for Berti Vogts when his Scotland outfit face Denmark in Copenhagen.
