Shrewsbury Town manager Jimmy Quinn has confirmed that Manchester United have snapped-up starlet Sean Evans from the Shropshire outfit for a 'substantial amount'. The 16-year old impressed coaches during a 6-week trail recently and United were quick to sign the midfielder. Hobbs in Trouble

Shrewsbury Town manager Jimmy Quinn has confirmed that Manchester United have snapped-up starlet Sean Evans from the Shropshire outfit for a 'substantial amount.'

Midfielder Evans, 16, has been regarded as the best player to come out of The Shrews' centre of excellence and impressed United's coaches during a six-week trail at Carrington Training Ground.

"We are delighted for Sean and hope that he goes on to have a very successful career with Manchester United," said the Conference outfit's boss Jimmy Quinn.

"We believe that our youth policy is an important ingredient in the club's future and we are delighted that our faith is being repaid, not only by today's announcement, but by the number of former youth players who are now part of the first team squad."

United loaned Lee Lawrence to Gay Meadow for month a few days ago and has impressed fans with his performances at left-back.
