The 21-year-old recently joined County on a loan basis, but Magpies boss Gary Mills has been quick to secure the services of the Welshman permanently and he is now likely to play some part in their massive game against fellow troubled side Chesterfield at Meadow Lane on Saturday.

The forward was highly-rated as a bright prospect at Old Trafford, and having seen him play on several occasions at reserve and youth levels, it is clear we had a player with some potential. His loan move to Nott's County looked, at first, to be a deal that would give him some vital first-team experience but United have decided that it will be best for both parties if they part company with the player. He failed to register a first-team appearance at United, and with the number of strikers at the club, it did look unlikely he would break into senior side contention in the near future.

Williams has signed a deal that will see him stay with the Nottinghamshire outfit until June 2006. Good Luck with Notts County.
