ManUtdWeb reported the rumours that Richardson could be set for a temporary move to the Bescot Stadium earlier in the week, but despite an loan offer being made by the Midlands outfit, United were not willing to do business.

Walsall are desperate to strengthen their squad as they look to push away from the First Division relegation zone, and Lee is disappointed that United were not willing to allow Richardson to become a Saddler on-loan.

"I've inquired about Richardson. He's got pace and skill and is a player I admire. But they are not prepared to let him out on loan." said Lee.

Personally, I cannot see why Sir Alex Ferguson was not willing to let Richardson go out on-loan. The 19-year-old is a player with bags of potential, but with Welsh international Ryan Giggs ahead of him in the pecking order it is highly unlikely he will get a much-needed run in the first-team.

A temporary move to Walsall would have given Richardson some vital first team experience with a good team, and would also have been of huge help to the First Division strugglers. The Saddlers have a link-up deal with United which you would have thought would help with a possible deal, but it wasn't to be. This is further evidence that these agreements between clubs do not work.
