Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has been ruled out of England's crucial Euro 2004 Qualifier against FYR Macedonia this weekend. Ferdinand is still suffering from a kidney complaint, which has seen him miss United's last two Premiership encounters. Match Report

United defender Rio Ferdinand has been ruled out of England's upcoming European Championship's qualifier against FYR Macedonia at the weekend.

Ferdinand is still suffering with kidney trouble, which has seen him miss United's last two league games.

It was believed that after missing out on Premiership encounters against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton, that Ferdinand would be fit for the crucial match, but a specialist has now advised him to sit out.

It is yet to be decided where Ferdinand will be fit for England's qualifying match next Wednesday against Leichtenstein.

"The United defender is suffering from a kidney complaint." read a brief statement from the F.A.

"He will, however, be re-assessed at the weekend in order to determine whether he'll be available to Sven for Wednesday's game against Liechtenstein."
