Spurs?

Ex-Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has been linked with a short-term deal at Tottenham Hotspur. The former Bayern Munich man was released by Sir Alex Ferguson over the summer after years of frustrating injury woes beset his promising career with the Red Devils.

Ferguson splashed out around £17million on Hargreaves in 2007, but the player never fulfilled his potential at United.

His tenure with the club was beset by injury problems and he made only 39 appearances for the club - with his debut coming in a 1-0 defeat at Eastlands.

United confirmed in May this year that the player would be released, fuelling rumours that he would announce his retirement.

However, Hargreaves has been anxious to find a new club and even posted videos of himself in training online in an attempt to prove his fitness to prospective new clubs.

A move to Leicester City collapsed, but Spurs are said to be prepared to gamble on the players' fitness and could offer the 30-year-old a short term contract until the New Year. 

The Red Devils travel to White Hart Lane on March 3rd.

Seemingly he's joining City? Tw@t..... let em have him, he'll never play anyway, my most hated United player ever. Waste of time and money, over rated idiot.
