A defeat on the first day of the season, is never easy to take, at the beginning of the season however games come fast and furious and no one has the time to sit back and feel sorry for themselves.
As has been said all over the message board, Airdrie have to take the chance to shoot when ever we can, we play some nice passing football but it's slow and tactical which only allows opposition defences the chance to reform. Direct attacking play is needed and urgently.
Sandy Stewart is with out the suspended Brian McPhee who was sent off for violent behaviour on Sat, in what most fans, including the opposition fans, think was a very harsh decision. The straight red means Brian misses this game and received an automatic 12 points on his record.
We are still with out Kevin Barkey with a fracture wrist and Martin Hardie with
a groin strain.
Returning to tonight's selection is Stephen McKeown, who has served his sentence after his suspension continued from last season.

Starks Park hold many fond memories for the Airdrie support, but Gordon Dalziel is looking for a decent cup run to add some much needed finances to the Raith coffers.
Scott Crabbe is Dalziel only doubt for the forth coming match, suffering from an Achilles Tendon problem he will be given a late fitness test.
We will have to watch out for one of Gordon Dalziel Summer signings, our very own Scott "Scooby" Wilson signed on from Clyde during the summer.

We saw Raith Rovers improve dramatically last season with the arrival of Dalziel at the club and I think this will be another tough game.
