League table as of today:

Looking at the table it seems two teams are proving the bookies wrong, Clyde being at the top and undefeated and joint favourite St Johnstone languishing at he foot of the table. Airdrie were rated as being middle of the group and so at the moment it would seem the bookies have it right.

In the League
We have played four games winning against St Johnstone, a shock in my opinion but it was three points. Our game against bottom of the table Raith Rovers is probably my only disappointment it was one of the teams I had expected to beat at the beginning of the season. That leaves our two loses, Partick Thistle we played well and were unlucky not to come away with something and Falkirk we fell apart Out of those three games I had only expected to get three points so having four is a bonus.

Cup Games
Were out of both the Bells Challenge Cup and the CIS cup, It was upsetting to go out the Queen of the south in what I have a tendency to look at as being the best chance of Airdrie picking up silver ware and we have done well in it over the last few years. In the CIS cup, we went down to 10 men against the team who have not lost a game in this league could we have expected to go on and win, maybe but Clyde beat us in such a similar fashion to last season it's spooky.

Septembers Fixtures and expectations
 

Having the two teams at the top of the league to play this week makes this month a little more difficult. but I am expecting a maximum of six points from these fixtures and I will take them any way they come. Vengeance over the two teams who knocked us out of the cup would be great as neither really had that much over us over the ninety minutes.
In the end I expect us to beat Queen of the South and get draws from the other three.

Departures:
As said on the forum good luck to Scott Wilson who has moved on to pastures new (Clyde), probably our most under used defender in the team so I hope he gets more of a chance in his new home. But when we have Alan McManus and Neil McGowan fit where did Scooby fit in to the team or was he always to be warming his backside on the bench.

Over View
Disappointed to be out of the cups so early on and our form could be better, but four points in the league are what counts at this stage of the game, and since we are only just finding our footing it's not to bad a start.
