Stephen Docherty, Airdrie team captain, ruled out for the rest of the season as the Diamonds continue the fight for promotion to the Bells Scottish First Division.

Sandy Stewart takes the Diamonds to Stenhousemuir hoping to make it fourteen games unbeaten and secure first place in the league. In doing so he may be forced into demoting   ex-team mate Tony Smith and Stenhousemuir to the third division
There are still fifteen points to play for and Airdrie need at least eight to secure promotion. We all know that tomorrows game is on paper the easiest of remaining fixtures  but when players are trying to guarantee themselves contracts for season 2004/2005 you can never underestimate them.
Sandy has two major doubts Stephen Docherty is definitely out for the remainder of the season and David Dunn is expected to be out for at least another two weeks. Neil McGowan is banned from them game due to his suspension.
The better news is that Kevin Christie has returned to fitness and may return to the team. Jerome Varielle  and Mark Roberts are both now fully fit.
Sandy has stated that his only concern for this game is securing the three points for Airdrie.

Everyone will remember Eddy Mack from our game away to Hamilton on the

28th of August we lost the game 2-1 and had Kenny Black yellow carded. This has to be the worst referee I have seen this season and that is saying a lot.

It is really unthinkable that we could walk away from this game with anything less than three points Stenhousemuir 0-V-5 Airdrie.
