Fixrure announcements may be postponed due to Falkirks decision to appeal against the SPLs decision to allow promotion for season 2003/2004

Appeal proceedings against the Bank of Scotland Premier League has begun lead by Falkirk chairman Campbell Christie

The SPL board voted against the Bell's First Division champions' ground-sharing proposal with At New Broomfield on Friday keeping liquidation threatened Motherwell in the SPL.

Falkirks lawyers have lodged an appeal to the SFA and will meet with the Office of Fair Trading in London on Thursday.

(Taken from Sky Sports) Christie told the club's official website: "We believe the SPL had no justifiable reason for denying us our rightful place in the Premier League.

"Five of their members believed we did have that right, yet we have been given no reason whatever, for seven others deciding that we should not be promoted.

"This decision has seriously prejudiced our business and an important matter of principle is at stake that is relevant to the well-being of football in Scotland.

"It is our intention to pursue every course open to us to overturn their decision.

"We realise that time is not on anyone's side and that business and fixture planning could be thrown into chaos, but that is a consequence of the SPL's decision."

Today is also the announced date for the Challenge cup draw, this may also be in jeopardy due to Falkirks decision.
