By all accounts the first half was mainly dominated by Airdrie but without really creating too many chances. Lee Gardner did have a one on one with the goalie but could only force a save. Second half though sounded like quite the opposite. A brilliant hat trick from Jerome and decent efforts for McKeown and Ronald sealed a crucial three points, although Humo did report that Doc did have Berwick's best chance with a 35 yard misplaced pass back!!

A bitter sweet day indeed. Cheesed off at missing the game but delighted with the result. Special too no doubt for Sandy Stewart. It's hard to imagine that a month ago there were a sizeable number of fans calling for his head after the admittedly dismal display at Hamilton. We now have our fate in our own hands. We have Stenhousemuir at home, Forfar away, Hamilton at home then Stranraer away. To win promotion we'll probably have to win all four games. It's not unthinkable and today's result has me thinking of that day at A*r in 1991 when Johnny Butler's overhead kick in injury time made promotion a real possibility. Sandy has the team working well now and our key players, McGeown, Armstrong, Doc, McGowan, Marv, Dosser and Vareille are looking strong. Scott Wilson has probably saved our season. Come to think of it, if we do go up, maybe it was his goal at Cowden that resembles Butler's most. Willie Wilson, who played well on the left today, has improved just in time, and even Gowser's presence in the 'hole' has helped on this run of form. With Sandy still to come back and hopefully Dunn to regain full fitness the next match can't come quickly enough. Stenhousemuir will undoubtedly provide stiffer opposition next week. Their battling 2-2 draw with Brechin has them level on points with us, so watch out for fireworks.
