I was lucky enough to miss last night's game at Berwick by the sound of it. A miserable result that will hopefully be rectified by a few new signings in the near future. I've lifted a match report from the BBC site.

Berwick Rangers marched into the quarter-finals of the Bell's Cup as they ended Airdrie's hopes of progressing at Shielfield Park. The Borderers' star was Alex Burke, who bagged both goals.

He was on target after only 11 minutes, turning neatly in the box to fire home a low shot well out of goalkeeper Mark McGeown's reach.

And he wrapped it up 60 seconds before the final whistle with a super solo effort.

Airdrie had plenty of pace but seldom got past a well-marshalled defence in which Alan Neill was outstanding.

Former Berwick player Paul Ronald almost equalised after the break but saw Ross Godfrey pull off a brilliant save.
