Boss Phill Brown has backed Bernard Mendy for international recognition. Brown Admits he has been impressed with Mendy's recent performances. "Bernard came here wanting to play international football, and if continues in the mode that he's in, he will play international football again, absolutely no doubt in my mind" Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.
"He's got tremendous ability and tremendous pace, and that's why we brought him to Hull City.
"I didn't just bring him because I'd worked with him before during my time at Bolton.
"I recognised what I had worked with before and I wanted more.
"The
pace side of things and his ability to run at people, combined with his
defensive abilities, are all part and parcel of a very good player."
"He missed a lot of pre-season and I don't care what anyone says, if that happens you are going to struggle.
"There's 95 per cent of your fitness that should be a given but it is that last five per cent that allows you to play 20 or 30 games on the bounce, is the bit that you miss.
"Bernard, especially with the advent of his injury, has had a stop-start Hull City career so far.
"But now I think that he's almost as fit as he's going to get without having that full pre-season."
