Campos: "We will be at the first race"

More speculation has been mounting about the Campos Meta Team and their entry into Formula One. The team have been reported as low in funds and struggling to find a budget. Rumors also suggest that the signing of Bruno Senna was partly to do with the money he would bring to the team with the vast amount of sponsorship he has. Adrian Campos has since denied reports about a financial struggle.

“We will be at the first race,” Campos told the BBC, “We are talking with people who would like to be shareholders.”

 
 

Campos has also said that the speculation about their future comes from rumors and not fact: “people speak too much and make trouble for us.”

 

Talk has linked the team with a possible buyout by Serbian outfit Stefan GP who has already struck a deal with departing Toyota to take over their TF110 car, gearbox and engine. The speculative buyout could include ex-Williams driver Kazuki Nakajima who is Toyota backed.

 

Completely Campos Meta has every reason to believe that the team will make the grid in 2010. The team is currently looking to fill the second driver seat and there are a few names that have been linked with the drive. We reported that Pastor Maldonado and Vitaly Petrov were in the running for the seat but recent reports have suggested that Nakajima could also partner Senna.
