Town's Managers - A Complete Record

Below you can find information and statistics on Ipswich Town Managers both past and present.

Town to date have had 14 managers in the professional era, excluding caretakers. The most successful are Sir Alf Ramsey who won the League title in 1961/62, and Sir Bobby Robson who won the FA Cup in 1978 and the UEFA Cup in 1981. Both managers went on to become England international boss, with Sir Alf winning the World Cup with England in 1966.

The most successful since Sir Bobby and Sir Alf is George Burley, who led the club to the Premier League in 1999/2000 and finishing 5th in the Premier League the next year allowing the club to qualify for Europe for the first time in almost 20 years. Town also qualified for Europe the following year through the Fair Play League.
