Peter Crouch's agent Jonathan Barnett has rubbished paper talk claiming that the striker wants a wage of 90k a week as being "absolutely ridiculous".

"Some of the figures being banded about in the media are absolutely ridiculous."

"We had a very, very good meeting with Sunderland and Peter liked it very much and was impressed with Steve Bruce," said Barnett.

Sunderland have today also been linked with a £7million move for, captain of Marseille, Lorik Cana.

League One side Carlisle United are reportedly interested in signing Sunderland youngster, 19 year old, Martyn Waghorn.
