Pride and Passion

Sunderland Chairman Niall Quinn has said that his players need to show "pride and passion" when the Toffees visit this weekend. The Black Cats put in an awful performance against bottom club West Brom on Saturday, losing the game 3-0 to leave their fans shocked, disappointed and angry.

"We had a very poor game on Saturday and our fans went home very, very unhappy," said the club's chairman, who made the trip down to The Hawthorns to witness possibly one of the worst displays his side have put in since he took over as chairman.

"The players know what they have to do next Sunday at home to Everton. They have to rev the engines up and get going for the game.

"Sunderland fans want one thing - genuine passion. They will forgive just about anything - I saw them clap their manager at Maine Road many years ago when they got relegated because he had a team that gave everything.

Quinn added: "I genuinely believe that if the work-rate is good, if we are passionate and making our tackles, and with the Sunderland crowd behind us, the players will be fine.

"But they've got to deliver and show the people they want it."

Hope Bardo keeps the captains arm band.

He's been our most passionate player recently and seems to want to fight for his club unlike some of the others.

Always get's stuck in!
