Chimbonda talks to Spurs

Pascal Chimbonda could rejoin Tottenham just six months after leaving White Hart Lane for Sunderland. Chimbonda is in London for talks with Spurs and is expected to undergo a medical this afternoon. The clubs have agreed an undisclosed fee.

Ricky Sbragia, Sunderland's manager, confirmed: "Pascal is having a chat with Tottenham, we have agreed a fee.

"He has struggled to settle here and it's an opportunity for him to start playing first-team football, he is speaking to Tottenham.

"I thought he was outstanding on Saturday but he has struggled personally. If the talks don't work out for him at Spurs, we'd be happy to have him back."

Chimbonda, the 29-year-old former France international, has made 16 appearances for Sunderland this season.
