United Chairman Gary Harwood is happy with the new promotion and relegation rule concerning Division 3, even though it doubles the relegation spaces to the Conference. Gary Harwood and the other Division 3 Chairmen unanimously backed a notion to make it "Two up, Two down" between the Conference and Division 3.
Although the extra relegation place will mean a larger threat of relegation for United next season, the agreement with the Conference League will bring in some much needed revenue. Division 3 clubs will receive a £50,000 payment over the next few season as part of the new deal.
The move did not shake manager John Taylor. He said we intend to be involved in the top end of the Division rather than the bottom.
