Little is having a tough ride at the moment. First he gets appendicitis, then when he is ready to get back to work, he gets the sack. Ah well. Sorry Alan, but no sympathy from me.

After revealing he was looking forward to coming back to work, Alan Little has been given the push that was needed months ago.

Little never really made a impact when he joined the club. There was no turnaround in results which you can usually expect to happen when a new manager takes over.

The biggest problem though for Little was his choice of tactics. He never stuck with the same team, or tactics for 2 games in a row. He changed his tactics more than our Rupe changed his undies in the same period of time.

The good things that Little did for Halifax Town can be counted on one hand.

1) After being out in the cold with Bracewell, Ian Fitzpatrick was brought into the team making an immediate impact.

2) The signing of Steve Bushell. I personally think Bushell will push Harsley very close for the Player of the season award.

3) Ermmm, if anyone can think of anything else Little did good for us then please email us at the usual address.

Little will be remembered as the man who took Halifax Town back to the Conference. The only football job I can see him getting is selling plastic balls on Blackpool beach.

What next for Halifax Town?

Redfearn?

The jury is still out on this one. There is no doubt that the players are happier with Redfearn. Is he right for the job though?

He had two spells as manager this season, and did reasonably better than what Little did, but that was not a hard task. In his first spell he stopped the team conceding goals, but in front of goal we were to be honest, crap!

The second spell was better. We played better and even scored goals. But the away form was dreadful, just like it was all season, and this is what has sent us down.

Redfearn and Little did not get on from day one. Understandable really, but it should never have happened. The pure fact that it seems neither Redfearn or Little were professional enough to work together only did more harm to our chances of staying up.

If Redfearn does get the job then who is going to work with him? Dave Worthington is the obvious choice, but he is paid by the club as head scout, something which we are going to need next season. Redders has played for some decent clubs and so will obviously have some good contacts but we come down to the same old situation.

Money!

There is not much of it about at the Shay. Part-time players are a dead cert. What about the players though that are still in contract? How many new players can we bring in?

There are going to be some tough and hard decisions over the next few months, lets hope that they are the right ones!
