Cup hopes to be hampered by injuries?

With no game this weekend it is time to look forward to Wednesday’s Cup replay with Dundee Utd and assess our chances.

After pulling off a richly deserved draw at Tannadice in the first game with really only one player missing with Steven Jennings suspended for that one, it looks as though we will have a few missing for the replay.

We picked up a few injuries at Kilmarnock last week, with Steven Saunders picking up an ankle injury and likely to be out for the season. Before the game we lost Franny Jeffers and Steven Hammell, and the manager has also indicated they will be struggling for the replay.

Then after the game we heard Tom Hateley was also injured in the game at Rugby Park and he will may not be able to make it either!

Add to the fact we will have Darren Randolph and Stephen Craigan arriving back on the day of the game after representing their countries, it looks as though it will be a patchwork side we will be putting out.

The good news is we will have Jennings and Lasley available to play together in midfield again, before the former starts his three game League suspension. This could be the key area to the game with Margaro Gomis suspended for Dundee Utd.

With the fit players available we may have to line up something like this; Randolph, Page, Hutchinson, Craigan, Gunning, Humphrey, Lasley, Jennings, Jones, Murphy, Sutton.
