Now that boss Stuart McCall is on record saying Francis Jeffers is on his way dependant upon International clearance – is it a good or bad signing.
The manager said after the game yesterday, “We hope to tie it up, unless there is another law comes out from somewhere and we are hopeful of getting Franny in.”
There is no doubt goalscoring has been our problem recently which definitely led to the defeat to Kilmarnock on Wednesday, has seen us struggle in 0-0 draws with Inverness and Hamilton. Therefore the manager has definitely signed someone in the right position.
Is he the right man or not seems to have united the Motherwell support that he is not!! This surprises me given the fact we have lost Blackman and Gow and not replaced them with anyone in that area.
What seems to upset many Well fans is his poor record at Rangers and since then but there seems to be no recognition of the potential that won him an England cap and something like £12million worth of transfers.
I would also like to ask Well fans where does he fit in this list of names in our squad, Murphy, Sutton, Casagolda, McHugh and Gary Smith. I would suggest he would be second behind Murphy and therefore is better than what we have and can add something to the squad.
McCall obviously isn’t keen on McHugh as he was about to loan him out to Thistle in January, and Gary Smith struggled to make a dent on the Dumbarton squad when out on loan there. Then there is the enigma that is Casagolda, enough said!
Hopefully he will win the fans over with the winning goal at Ibrox next Saturday and we can all move on behind the team.
