We will be heading for Stranraer in the Fifth Round of the Scottish Cup as they beat Stenhousemuir tonight in a replay.
The two sides met a just over a week ago and drew 0-0, but tonight’s replay was more of a goal fest with Stranraer sealing the tie with a 4-3 win to set up the tie with Motherwell.
The sides last met in the Cup back in the Quarter Finals in 2003, with Motherwell winning comfortably enough by four goals to nil.
Well were ahead by one goal at the break thanks to an own goal, but three goals from legendary names such as James McFadden, Dirk Lehmann and Derek Adams sealed the win.
Motherwell then lost narrowly to Rangers in the Semi Finals in an epic 4-3 game at Hampden.
We have also met Stranraer twice more in the Cup in 1963 and 1949 winning 3-1 and 3-0. There have also been two League meetings, in our relegated season of 1968/69 and we won both of them as well.
