It would appear we did have money to sign one player as the club today announce the signing of Esteban Casagolda.
The 23 year old Spaniard has been on trial at Fir Park for a number of weeks ad has done enough to impress Craig Brown to secure a one year deal.
The striker arrives from Belgium, where he had spells with FC Brussels, Diagem and RC Malines.
He played in the trial game on Monday night, and I must confess there were others I would rather have taken rather than him. Having said that Craig Brown and Archie Knox have seen him in training and they seem to know a bit about the game!
Casagolda will be given the number 23 shirt and will be in the squad for Sunday's game with Hibs, although I would expect he will be on the bench behind Murphy and Sutton.
Now that we have made this one signing, and given what has been said by Brown and Chief Exec Leeann Dempster this could be it for this transfer window.
Unless of course we go on and beat Odense and progress to the group stages of the Europa League.
