Can we add to our squad or not?

There has been some confusion coming from the club this season about whether we can add to our current squad or not.

There is no doubt we need to add some depth to our squad given we lost Ruddy, O'Brien, Jutkiewicz and Coke in the summer and only replaced Ruddy with Darren Randolph.

After the first pre-season game at Brechin Craig Brown mentioned he had money available to bring in a striker, but the three trialists who were at the club at that time were released immediately.

In recent weeks the manager has now been telling the media there is no money to bring anyone in unless we progress in Europe. We have now progressed but there has been no movement towards bringing someone in.

This week we hosted a trial game with seven trialists in the line up, and allegedely all of them were told the next morning they would not be required to stay!

Then in Wishaw Press this week Leeann Dempster has repeated the line, we still have money for one player, and the money is still sitting there. There is also a report in the Sun this morning we are looking at a Moroccan right back.

It all seems a bit confusing;

Do we have money or not for one player?

If we don't why have we brought at least 11 trialists through the club in the last few weeks, would it not have been better having a look at own Under 19 players.

Hopefully it will all be sorted out in the next few weeks before the transfer window closes on 31st August.
