Motherwell returned to pre-season today ahead of their trip to Wales to take on Llanelli in the first qualifying round of the Europa League.

The players were back in pre-season training under the supervision of Skipper Stephen Craigan (as the search for a new manager continues - more of that later!).

Joining them in the squad was new keeper Michael Fraser following his move from Inverness after he had agreed a pre-contract earlier in the year.

After the morning session the players heard they had been drawn to play against Welsh side Llanelli in the Europa League, with the first game at Airdrie on 2nd July, then a trip to Wales on the 9th.

At least this should give Well fans the chance to travel to see their side, although this could be limited by the size of Llanelli's ground, although they could agree to a move to play at the Llanelli Scarlets new stadium.

Tickets for the first leg go on sale for season ticket holders tomorrow - no news yet of the away leg.

On the manager situation it looks as though Lawrie Sanchez has moved into prime position, as according to STV he was interviewed for a secod time at Fir Park today - hopefully we can et him in before the game at Airdrie next week.

At least the new season is almost hear and the shadow boxing is over!
