Mothewell boss Mark McGhee has expressed his delight at Motherwell's performances since the SPL split
After another excellent post split win at Hamilton yesterday Motherwell boss Mark McGhee expressed his delight at the team's performances since the split, as he said after yesterday's win.
"I have said all along in these games that all I could ask that we went about it in an honest and professional way.
"I think in each of the games after the split, even the Falkirk game where we went with a depleted squad missing Craigan, Quinn and O'Brien, we still went about our business in a determined way even though we didn't play very well.
"But the other games the managers expect us to be trying and I think we did that."
He was also forced to pitch young Shaun Hutchinson into the side yesterday with Reynolds missing and Hammell's wife going into labour and the manager was pleased with his performance as well;
"Delighted with young Shaun making his debut and he didn't look out of place and that is obviously a great marker for next season. He is someone that we may be able to build on and can become a part of it next year."
This is particularly heartening following his comments before the game which seemed to hint at Hughes and Graeme Smith heading out and very little coming in to replace them.
