Manager Mark McGhee said after the game that the red card was the turning point in our defeat to Kilmarnock on Saturday, He also felt the gme as there for us to win in the first half when the game was eleven v eleven and we were the better side at that stage. McGhee said after the game, "It was totally the turning point, obviously that was down to us. I've said that to the lads in the dressing room. If the same situation arises again I would hope we would be, our do our best to get, goal side to try and make the tackle.
"If, in that situation, you can't make the tackle then you've got to let the boy go on and hope he misses or the ‘keeper saves it.
"We certainly can't afford to have people sent off and ultimately, it has cost us the game. Not only that, Quinn will now be suspended so it's a dear one indeed."
The last minute goal didn't make it any harder for McGhee to accept the defeat as he added, "A defeat is always hard to take but I thought we played well enough to feel as if we deserved something from the game.
"I am satisfied with a lot of aspects of the performance and had it not been for the sending off then things may very well have been different."
"There were one or two occasions when we had created some opportunities but perhaps overplayed it. I remember one in particular when Clarkson got in on the right hand side and he chose to pass when the shot was on and it cost us the opportunity.
"The first half was the period where the game was there to be won by us. Murphy was getting a lot of joy in behind and getting some good balls into the box; we had to score then but didn't."
After the game there was also some questions raised about the form of Chris Porter but the manager explained that this is possibly down to our style this season "I thought he played well last time out against Falkirk and although he didn't score today, I thought he was decent.
"There were a lot of good things about his performance today - but we're not creating the types of chances that we carved up last year.
"We're not passing the ball as well in the final third and I think that is down to the shape we're playing. Playing the way we do, we're going to rely on the likes of crosses whereas last year, when we were playing with three, we made a lot more passes.
"We have to take that into account not only with Chris, but with others. John Sutton is a very different type of player from Ross McCormack and David Clarkson's form has meant we've not been able to play the way we want. Perhaps we now have to look at switching to three up-top."
