Our UEFA opponents have decided in their wisdom to only allocate Motherwell 1000 seats for our trip to France causing an unprecedented ticket scramble for tickets by fans who have already booked flights and accomodation. Will we all be happy at the end of the day?
For the first time in many years we have been presented with a ticket scramble as fans look to take part in our European adventure.
Nancy have allocated Well the minimum UEFA requirement of 5% of their stadium Capacity, just over 1000 seats. It looks as though as many as 2000 Well fans are keen to go given the number who have already registered for the ticket ballot.
The club seem to have been ill preprared for this type of scenario, with their e-mail crashing, people queueing all day handing in applications and communication hard to keep up with the pace of change.
Sadly for many they will miss out on the game after a 13 year wait for European football. Could this have been avoided, should fans who attend away games have been rewarded in some way.
Hopefully there will be some learning from all of this before we make the group stages!!!
