After the Wolves friendly game Mark McGhee confirmed some of the problems he is having securing the transfers of John Kennedy and Jim O'Brien from Celtic. He is also still on the look out for others to add to the squad with a keeper being one of his top priorities.
Mark McGhee said after the game that neither transfer was completed but both himself and Gordon Strachan had agreed from a football point of view but the moves were being stalled between Chief Executives.
It would appear that Celtic are looking for a loan fee for Kennedy and for Motherwell to pick up his full wage. McGhee said that we couldn't afford his full wage and that it will require some movement from both sides to make the move happen.
As far as O'Brien is concerned it is believed Celtic are looking for a fee of £200000 for the winger they don't want! O'Brien is keen to move to Fir Park, although he still has an option to move to Dundee United.
On the goal keeping front former Millwall and Chelsea keeper Lenny Pidgely, who had a spell at the club on trial, has left after it was discovered he was looking to match the money he was on at Millwall (£3500 per week).
He was replaced by Imley who was on the bench tonight, he only arrived today and no one I spoke to could tell us where he came from and we can find no tace of him on the internet!!
The trialist came on at half time is called Souleymane Mamam who had been at Man Utd as a youngster from 2003-2007 before spending a year at Royal Antwerp in Belgium. You may well remember his brother Cherif Toure who played at Livingston.
Souleymane is famous for being the yongest ever Internationalist to play in a World Cup qualifier when he turned out for Togo at the age of 13.
